Skeletal Samurai

This bold Japanese thigh piece features a skeletal samurai surrounded by traditional Japanese elements, all brought together in a black and grey style. The tattoo was completed over two days, making it a great example of what can be achieved when you’re working with a limited amount of time.

The client was travelling and only had two days available for their tattoo, so the design and sessions were planned around that timeframe. The result is a detailed piece featuring the skeleton samurai as the main focus, with flowing Japanese waves and sakura blossoms wrapping around the outside to give the tattoo movement and balance.

The skeleton samurai brings a darker, more dramatic feel to the traditional Japanese imagery, while the sakura adds contrast and a softer element to the overall design. The waves help tie everything together and work naturally with the shape of the thigh.
